Homelink Manufacturer? Having Problems (long...)
Does anyone know if the homelink transmitter in the 2k1 is made by Nissan or is it produced by some third party "homelink" company which is common to all cars?
The reason I ask is I tried programming my AE's homelink this evening without success but my fathers 2k1 Odyssey's homelink works just fine. The instructions for both our units are identical and match those found on homelink.com. Since my fathers works just fine I know the openner itself is homelink compatible. I also know the openner does not use a rolling code so that's not the problem either.
I did a search here and tried every suggestion I could find. I tried with the iginition in the locked, off, accessory, and on position. I've tried it with the transmitter close and far away from the homelink controls. I've tried from both in the garage and outside it. Each time the homelink indicates it has learned the code (slow blinking becomes fast blinking after a couple of seconds) but the openner refuses to register it when I try open or close the garage. But as I said before my fathers works just fine. Any other suggestions (and yes, I've cleared all the codes several times and tried programming all three buttons)
If they are all made by the same people then I will demand the dealer fix it. Otherwise I'll ask them to look at it but not expect much response.
Thanks
