so make that 2 breakdowns during maxus......
ill start from the beginning. over the past week or so, i have noticed an intermittant and sporadic rattle when the clutch is engaged. fast forward to today,i stopped about 120mi from indy to get gas. when i went to take off, it was hard to get into first and there was a hint of grinding. then it was fine after that. later i was getting off the interstate and i put the car in neutral. and when i went to put it into gear it wouldnt. i wrestled with it and got it into 4th.but i got stopped at the first light and i couldnt get it into gear. so i pulled over. the car wouldnt go to gear at all, the clutch pedal dropped about 2in, the clutch fork is wobbling at idle and the clutch fork is angled slightly. i can get the car into gear when its off thou. my money is on the throw out bearing sliping off the clutch fork.
if im right, is there any possible way to put it back on w/o pullin the trans, via the starter hole and clutch fork hole?

Did your engagement point change? Did you clutch feel loose towards the top? I had the same problem and it was the slave and master cylinder. You could possibly check your clutch fluid, mine wsa really low because of a leak.

Had something like this happen on an old RX-7 I had ... in my case, the TOB actually broke and I had to drop the trans. It tore apart my PP also, but I was close to needing a new clutch, just didn't want to do it right then.
I would deff check the slave and fluid. Have a buddy help you and watch the fork for movement when the clutch is pressed. The reason you can get it into gear w/o the engine runnnig is becasue the layshaft is not spinning the drive gears. It sucks, but you can drive it like that ... just don't want to for very long.

there are no leaks and the mc is full of fluid. i had my gf work the pedal while i watched. it seems to operate fine when the car is off. but it wobbled like crazy when the car was on.
the engagement point dropped quite a bit and there was much less pedal stiffness too.

so what are your guys recommendations on what to do? im still under warranty, but i wont have a car after this weekend, i cant store it where its at, and i really need this car up and running.
can i take out all the springs, and reinstall it for a week or 2 and be ok?
i also have a 3.0l spec stage 3 clutch. the pp will bolt to a 6spd flywheel, but can i use it? i havent looked and compared size and all.
