It's pretty simple, pop the triangle shaped interior trim off, remove the three bolts, disconnect the electrical connectors, it's pretty simple, and the bolts usually break

You have to open the panel to get to the one bolt thats holding on the triangle trim. After that, theres three bolts to remove and wiring for the motor / heater element if yours has that. Your bolts might be corroded and break when you try to remove them, mine were, so you may need to get new bolts for the install. I had the same experience as KRZZ350.

Anyone know the size of the bolts if they do break? I have to replace my mirror in a few days when it comes.

no hes talkin about the plastic piece on the front side of the mirror, so that it matches the color of ur car. the bolts are 10mm. on mine only one of them broke but u need to make sure that they all are on otherwise it will be wobbily.

oh ok i see

but i too have a minor mirror problem and i dont wanna make a new thread for such a small problem, so since the OP was answered let me "borrow" this thread for now

So the mirrors fold right ? well my passenger does fold, no problem, but the driver side stopped folding, i know it used to fold like 3 months ago but now i put force on it and it wount move, i dont wanna break it, but the force i put on it is pretty hard

i sprayed all kinds of chemicals in there and nothing, like its glued or something, should i take the mirror off and see whats in there ? or leave it on and not bother ?

not that i fold my mirrors all day long HEHE but its kinda neat to do when u go downtown and the parking is really tight, THANKS (and sorry for stealing the thread)

Andrei, I would take the mirror off (Just the mirror)- be carefull not to damage the hooks behind the mirror then check out the mechanism that allows it to turn, since it's plastic your right don't force it- loosen the bolt and squeeze some grease into plastic components, maybe this will help> FSM BT36 for diagram.

thanks, that page looks very useful. Just to clarify the power mirror works, i CAN adjust it.

i am talking about the whole mirror assembly that can be turned so that no one breaks it.

The FSM pictures show the mirror removal, but how do i get to the actual part that lets the whole assembly be folded ? i did see 3 bolts UNDER the plastic housing but i cant get my screw driver there, the door panel curves out too far (plus the bolts seem rusted to $hit)

Yeah I understood what u were asking, I refered u to the FSM to make sure you don't break ur hooks behind the mirror itself. If u look at the FSM diagram it shows the line where the mirror folds, if u look to the right of the mechanism that moves the mirror you'll see a bolt and turning mechanism this is what I told you to grease. The three bolt are on the inside of the car holding the mirror to the door, however on the outside the only bolts(small) are used to hold the mirror turning mechanism to the motor in the housing of the mirror-don't remove these just loosen the top mounted bolt where turning the mirror would allow- Like a door hinge just loosen the bolt that allows it to pivot.
