wierd burning smell

after i drive my car a little harder than i usually do (60-80mph but with alot of turns and stops (neighborhoods)) i smell something almost like burning rubber when i get out. i dont think its the engine because it doesnt smell after i go on the highway at the same speeds, when theres no braking, stopping and hard turns. i'm hoping its just my tires, should i be concerned?

so feel your brakes and see if they are overly hot. Also... you know what else is made out of rubber? (brakes are not by the way ) belts!
