Auto Tranny Story

vacum gauges dont have wires, this thread got way out of control from the get go. I orginaly was pissed that another member talked about the author's writing skills and felt the need to correct what he said and get in his *** like he did the authors. then the other guy made a lunge at me about my story so back and fourth back and fourth. You all can believe what you want i will also i tested my idea to be true but by a litlle margin. You all can believe the FSM as the holy grail but i just dont have faith in factory **** with a 4th gen maxima ive seen way to many problems. And if engineers were that brilliant we would never have half the problems we do now, hell my other car, a supercharged buick thats is 13 years old hasnt had the kinda problems maxima's do. so anyway getting to the point we hsould start being alot more respectful of others, given that we dont use proper english 100% of the time but nobody should be called out on that. We should get to the point. People on here need to be alot more aware of how they come at people.

no problem i stick behind everything i said to other members as well. There should be no reason like i said earlier to down another member for grammer when the point hasnt even been adressed. thats what a forum is for to help with a problem not their f**** grammer useage

i lost my just replaced tranny
I suspect the reason you just replaced your transmission is because of the way you are driving it. Shifting in and out of gear either while driving at 80 or sitting at a light is hard on it and will soon take a toll on it.
I am NOT one to flame others on here, but in my opinion, you don't deserve to be driving a Maxima.

That's smart of the engineers to put reverse lockouts on cars nowadays, that can really save someone's butt.
The putting the car in neutral debate is interesting to me. I know in manual transmission cars you are better off leaving it in gear, but I was under the impression that in automatic cars there was always fuel being delivered to the engine at all times.
Without question, the Maxima rolls better in neutral than in drive because the torque converter stays locked up even when you let off the gas. I've driven other cars where the torque converter unlocks when going downhill and there is no difference between N or D for coasting.
It could be that the torque converter in the Maxima stays locked up so that it can shut off the fuel supply even on automatic cars?
