Cps and ignition problem

ok Guys this is what im dealing with. The car starts to break up around the 3800-4000 rmp range. I think its ignition due to when it happens i smell gas. I have a open down pipe. It will buck if you try to push it through this area but it seems like the fire cuts out.

Ok I pulled codes I got p0300
and p0335
I tested the sensor and got the following readings
On the red wire I got battery voltage
and on the white wire it would read with sensor plug up 0.14 and with it unpluged it would read 5.01
No with it plug up my manual says that if you take a screw driver and touch the end of sensor and pull it away it should read 5v well mine would read less than 2v. the car cranks and drive fine intill you get in it and make boost come in over 3psi and then when it get to 3800 it will start screwing up.
Does this sound and test to me a bad sensor?

sounds like your in safe mode perhaps your maf sensor is screwed up. The smell of gas will happen cauce it wont let you get past a certain rpm/load range. If your maf sensor is good otherwise you might be maxing out the MAF and you probably need to upgrade to a bigger maf to keep up withstand the boost.

Crazy, I started reading this and had to double check to make sure I wasn't on SupraMania.

Ok last night I tested the cps in stead of getting 5v at the white wire I was getting like anywhere from 1.4v to 0.70v when I took a screw driver and touch the end of it and pulled away quickly. Now with the sensor un plug the harnes is sending 5v on the white wire from the ecu. So I went to the junk yard and got a another one and put in and clear the ecu with scanner tool. Went for a drive and it move the break up point from 3800 to now happening at 4500-4700. Wtf.

hey...if you know anyone with a snap-on diagnostic tool or anything comparable its very easy to figure out the problem with the right hands behind the tool...

you can check for coils not firing, injectors not firing, including freeze framing the data...just a thought....i got one...very expensive but i love it.

without looking at it and going by what you are saying....sounds like a coil or a cps sensor as stated.
