I would advice you to remove that ducttape from the car STAT, it will pull the paint when you go to remove it that or leave a LOT of glue..

Glad to hear this all worked out for you man!

However, you might want to reconsider your choice to rebuild the car...

~Who knows how hard he drove it since it wasnt his, you may run into problems down the road...

~Puddles in the car and a soaked interior may lead to insane electrical issues that will make you want to

~An oil and gas soaked interior just doesnt sound at all like a good thing...

~Just tearing out all that stuff in the center console might have stripped/crossed some wires that may lead to certain things NEVER working correctly again, OR a short later on down the road that may lead to even
worse things!

Reconsider parting the car out and using those profits towards another car...what does your insurance co. have to say? Will they be willing to total it and let you buy it back since even the cops deemed it "undriveable?"

Just my $.02 but again Im glad to see this story had a happy ending!

Hope that guy learns to sleep on his back and only his back for the next 5 years!

insurance said i have to options

-let them take the car to a interior body shop and have everything done for free

-give me a check for 2000 bucks to refurnish the car my self

and the interior wasnt oil or gas soaked, it was the exterior

Well, if the front window was busted...oil/gas was bound to get inside.

If I were you...part out what you can and make $1000-1500, take the $3500+funds and buy another 4th gen maxima.

If all they are giving you is $2 grand, tell them "you already got robbed", your just trying to recoupe your losses now, and mention all the sentimental value the maxima has to you. They usually go off blue book value when they pay off a total damadge, they're paying a little above auction value, thats what a delaer will give you if you tried to trade it in. HOLD OFF FOR MORE!!

^^^Good choice- you'll prob be able to get all missing parts at a yard. I must say this was a good read.....good for you. BTW some of the other guys said u should b concerned after he get out...no worry dude you have plenty of time to take a jujitsu class for self defense if he's stupid enough to come after u.

He got close to u in order to steal ur car so he doesn't have respect for u. Going with his MO he'll prob tell u he's gonna get u cause he's not too bright (lol) > think about it he drives a Civic and to prove his insanity he thinks it's fast. I got my old car broken into and it was a guy I knew (a buddy of mine recognized my eq and told me), the money he made selling my EQ and cd's he used to fix his face after I got through with him ( he would implicate himself with theft if he said anything about the woop a$$), saw him at a club in Ft. Lauderdale about a 2 months later and he ran. Now.....u maybe asking yourself why is maxPEED telling me this?

Simply said, if he does come at u F^k him up then he'll fear u and respect is born.

Don't show fear when in his precense (court), he'll pick up on it- in fact you should be menacing..... and watch out for his boys or related friend(s) don't trust any of them- In fact one of them probably drove him to the mall, I know he didn't walk there. This person that drove him will prob want to get close to u to make u think they had nothing to do with it, so look out for the sudden new best friend(s) u may have.

>>>>Good luck man, BTW work on ur "judgement of character" people are funny <<<not funny_haha and not funny_queir.

I think you should be able to clear his bank account out and sell his car to make up the money he sold your **** for, I think that would be an even trade IMO

I dont think you have to worry, spotlights already on him, cops arent stupid (lazy) they can add these days 1+1=3.

Just like maxpeed96plat. said look out for his friends.

the only reason they stole ur car and not the bmw or other cars was because ur car was probibly easyer to steal Those cars have a more hight tech alarm system
