Will it kill me not to repair these right away?

Will it kill me not to repair these right away?
Greetings,
After searching through these and other forums I am still at a loss.
I bought a 96' about a year ago. This is my first car and I believe I have been taken for a ride by the used car dealer. The missing check engine light being my primary indicator of this and of my inexperience.
So now the check engine light is replaced along with a new knock sensor.
Now I need to deal with these recurring error's on my OBD-II.
0136 - Downstream oxygen sensor or circuit fault
0440 - EVAP system leak
0446 - EVAP canister vent control valve circuit fault
Also when I remove my gas cap for refueling I can tell the tank is pressurized. I think it's related to the EVAP system but I am new. Some of the components under my car like the pre-cat are pretty corroded. Though I still pass my smog check.
Is there a safety issue with running the car with these faults?
Has someone seen this combination before?
Are 0440 and 0446 possibly caused by the same thing?
Does the Downstream oxygen sensor effect the cars performance.
If I drive from California to Illinois will I hurt either myself or my car?
I apologize if I missed an explanation for this in another posting.
Thank you for any help!

Yep, gas mileage will be a killer. So you may want to eventually change the o2 sensor just to save some dinero down the road.
It's a simple fix if you get another evap canister as your current one is either on a closed or open circuit and therefore is triggering a code. I check mines and replaced a few lines from the evap canister and eliminated code all together.
