errr FING CAR

yesterday my car started to sputter and not hold idle and jsut stall out under 1000 rpm. After trying to get it to sa shop my car broke down tootally woudlnt start .5 miles from teh shop. After gettin to the shop i had 6 codes.... we fixed the issue with not starting a blew a fuse. Now i had an EGR code. the guy working on my car is prety fmailiar wiht max's and i30's. He said the egr valve staying open is a common problem and would give u the sypmptoms u have wont hold idle sputter and choke. After he cleareed all codes we ran the car for a fem mintues nottin came back.... besides a bank 4 missifre, coil died got a new one.

today driving to my gf's house tp philyl abotu 40 miles. rite as i get onto her block it doesnt hold the idle again. And sputter and die. I got the car home at nite, im pretty sure my EGR valve is ****ed up. How much is a EGR valve go for ?

iv never seen an egr go bad on our cars....

its probably the EGR tube that is clogged solid...

check to see if ur getting vacuum to the EGR rubber hose that is attached to it..

then check to see if the valve actually opens under throttle....

If the EGR were completely open at idle, then it could cause issues, but not if completely blocked up/clogged.

If it turns out to be the egr valve there about $100 heres a link for a site I use to order stuff from. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...layCatalogid=0 But you should try cleaning it first since they rarely go bad

Well good news its not an EGR....
Reason why EGR can cause this is if the valve is open, the extra exhaust gas go back into the intake system causing it to choke and sputter........

one of the tubes on the intake came Loose DOPEEEEEEE =[, fomr the previous time i wasa the shop when we were testing stuff.

And i didnt bother to look at it under the hood, couz it was doing the same **** as before, but before i had an EGR code.... i over paniced

SO LETS HOPE IM DONE WITH THIS... im tired of towing the car ****ing scratchign my muffler dueshbag almsot cracked my front bumper getting it on the bed.

Yeah, agreed. My son's EGR is just a corroded lump and the tube isn't even connected but the damn thing seems faster than mine. Actually I think it's because I fixed the O2 sensor on mine and he hasn't.

Just a few suggestions, but have you checked your fuel pump, or filter? What about the plug in the bad coil pack, did you check all the spark plugs?

well if u guys unplug the egr, than it would be as if it is closed..... but when the egr valve is stuck open exhaust gases get escaped into the intake system.
