Knock senz0rz

I have a 0702 code and a 0304 code that keep coming up about 100 miles after I reset the CEL. I replaced the o2 sensor in the rear bank for the 0702 code and the same thing happens. I think my knock sensor might have shiiet the bed too, because I tested it (correctly I hope) and I found an open circuit. I kept it unplugged and went for a drive around town and I noticed the car drove the same with the knock sensor unplugged. So should I buy a new knock sensor?

Isn't the knock sensor known to also trip the o2? Sounds like you may have went backwards to solve the problem.

just try to replace your harness as NmexMAX said and get that code erased... and leave ur negative battery terminal unplugged for overnight or something...then if it decides to poop on ya again then u know its time to change that sucka..

Not the case...i replaced the KS and threw a resistor in just to be sure and the 0702 comes back by itself. Reset the ECU at autozone....have them then run it right after it says codes cleared to make sure that they are actually cleared. Then drive 50 miles and go back to see if the KS is still there before the CEL comes on.

Just replaced my KS and it made a noticable difference. Its not hard to do just have an extension and swivel socket, and be sure to not over tighten it!

Im in the same position right now im throwing both an 02 sensor and knock sensor code. i was just gonna replace the o2 sensor first and see what happens. the local auto parts store has them instock and they tell me that they have an OE 02 sensor and a universal one with about a $20 price difference. would the universal be ok or should i get the OE one?

Universal is ok, but your going to have to take the old one off cut the connector and basiccally solder the connecter to the uni one. If you get the OE its all plug and play

Nope. I just went into the dealer and told them I needed a Knock Sensor Harness for an A32. They came back and gave me the harness with the 2 wires attatched. They should have them in stock at your local stealership parts depo.

Haha prob right. Do what i said earlier w/ reseting the ECU and driving 50 miles before the MIL comes back. Check then to see if the KS is there and that will determine if it is on its own or with the 0702.
