You mean 93K? Also if they are saying your engine is going to fall out your radiator support could be rusted out which connects the crossmember that holds up your engine. If that is rusted out the the chance of your engine falling out is greatly increased.

Could you provide some pics of what this support is. On my 95 if you look through the lowest grill you see what looks like a part of the frame that is rusted extremely bad. Please provide further info because I might have this a a potential danger also.

Just get underneath the car and take a look at the support that runs underneath the Radiator that connects to the cross memeber and both side of the vehicle. Its a comman place to find rust on older maximas and most likely will have to be replaced which entailes cutting out the old rusted section and welding in a new lower peice that nissan does sell.

Cant really bent rust back and weld rust....depending on how bad it is.
Might just be better to add some metal support across the car and weld it as best as you can, if you dont want to replace the lower peice that is.

its not rust it has jst cracked if i jack it up to where it whould be a weld it and maybe but some more steel in it. i think it is worth a shot i CBF pulling the cross member out etc etc and plus it wont cost me anything to fix.
i am not losing out on trying anyway

a co-worker took his car to Nissan and complained about it today since his is getting pretty bad... hes getting a word back tomorrow to see whats gonna happen... funny thing is that they didn't laugh in his face or anything they actually got on the phone with corporate and he might get it done for free...

seriously.. i think every member in snow states has this problem... it would be nice if they fixed it.... as it is a common problem.

I also have this problem with the radiator core support rusting out on my 1998 Maxima. I called corporate and expect a call back soon. This problem is due to a bad design and can also be a safety issue as your engine will shift and may be damaged if the two bolts holding the cross member to the core support fail. I would suggest every one who has a Maxima with this problem contact Nissan, perhaps if we get enough people pointing out this design and saftey hazard Nissan may provide some compensation. This is not normal wear and tear of a car.
