Good for my 4th gen or not
Clifford Matrix RS3 2-way LCD Alarm with remote start getting a slighty used one for $150... My question is will the remote start work on my 5 speed?? I have a alarm that i got with my car from the previous owner but its a POS balck widow..... I mean its a good deal with two LCD remotes.. What do you guys think?

you'd have to bypass that clutch switch thing, that tells the car the clutch peddle is not depressed so the car wont start. Bypass that and you could use the remote start... again, leave the car in gear and come out to a nice surprise.

lol yea but do i have to wire the remote start. Can i just wire the alarm? Or is the remote start nessary for the alarm to work? Dont feel safe with the remote start for reasons you know already

Yes it will work, no you shouldn't do it though. The install manual specifically says not to install on manuals.
Get a remote start that works with manuals. Or go into the ICE forum and ask pearlmax96 how to tap the neutral position switch to prevent starting in gear.
For manuals, I'm reading great reviews about Astro. Not as popular because they're not marketed like DEI. Superior range rivaling CompuStar.
Claimed distance:
Astro=2000ft
CompuStar=6000ft
In the clear line of sight from atop a mountain peak, I paged my car about a mile down at the parking lot. Pretty cool stuff.
On my car, I have a turbo timer to ensure my car's in neutral and ready for RS.

yes it will work but no you shouldnt??? You mean the remote start na im not doing it maybe in the future. So how did you wire it to your car with the turbo timer unless you have a turbo i can understand... Btw no one said if its a good deal or not?

doesn't look like a great deal. ebay has em for 220 brand new, but only 1 remote. sure you could find it cheaper than that if you looked hard enough. i payed under 200 the last time i bought a viper 791vx which is same the same thing branded diff. i think.

seems like a lot of alarm that you want just cause its around. if you take away the remote start. then really you just have an alarm with a screen. i guess the 2 way is a selling point, and the 2 remotes... if you got it spend it i guess.

Is it $150 installed?
The turbo timer is a feature of my alarm. Park car, set parking brake, turn off ignition and remove key... engine still running... Exit, close door... alarm immediately arms and locks the doors while the turbo timer does it's thing. This forces the car to be in neutral, so I can RS. If I don't follow the sequence, the car won't RS.
Or if you use the neutral position switch, you don't do anything special. When you want to RS, it'll sense if the car is in neutral or not, then acts appropriately.

But you can make it as complicated as you want, hiding the brain module, hiding the wires, soldering and heatshrinking all connections, etc etc.
The RS adds only a few wires: clutch, starter, power, and in some cases an RPM sensor. So less than 8 wires to add RS isnt' bad, cuz you're gonna be connecting 15-20 wires anyways for keyless entry and alarm. My system had about 40 wires cuz I had driver priority unlock, hood and trunk triggers, trunk popper and a few other goodies.
Check out the 5th gen forum, there's a very detailed writeup (including pics) of what's involved.
In the middle of my install:
The previous owner had an alarm in there, but when it was removed before selling to me, they sorta hacked a lotta wires that I had to repair. All of the wiring you see has been cleaned up with fresh solder, wireloom, and e-tape.
