trunk project
i put together the platform for the trunk today. 3 pieces joined together with piano hinges. it fits perfect. and put the sub in place. the black carpet comes in wednesday. the entire trunk will be covered with the carpet. i am going to spray foam in the body cracks, before applying the carpet. the trunkmount battery kit should be here tuesday or wednesday. ttyl.
Do you have a schematic or something you can post for the platform you made? I have a big problem as far as my sub sliding all over my trunk and moving my carpet all over the place. Everytime I get out of my car I have to push my sub back into place and straighten out the carpet -- it getting to be really annoying.
Any help is appreciated, I need ideas.

Tried velco, but yeah, like JeepRage said, it didnt work and actually made it worse for me. I never had this problem when I had 2 subs since the box would brace against the sides of the trunk. Im still trying to figure it out with the help of other members, but I think the best thing to do is somehow trace the trunk carpet onto a large piece of plywood and then modify away. The sub gets either bolted into the plywood or a cut is made in the plywood so the sub sits in a depression or groove. It's simple in principle but hard to actually accomplish. Im going to try something this week.
