I Like ZipWax

I love Mequire's Gold Class Wax. But for washing I love ZipWax CarWash ( by Turtle Wax ).
I have been using it since the early 70s. I have had 10 new cars in that time, and every one looked great. My current seven year old Maxima looks fantastic. When I see my car in the distance in a parking lot, I'm amazed at how it shines.
And Zip soaps up really well....That's my 2 cents.

Best Soap...

I've used them all and Meguiars Rich Suds(C) is by far the best - a good lather, cleans well, and sells neutral. Just trying to help .

Try the Mother's California Gold car wash. Lots of suds and it smells like bubble gum. It does a good job too.

Been using Mother's Carnuba Paste wax. Pretty good stuff but think I'll give the MeGuire's Gold Class wax a try

Cheers

car wash is ok, i have now, and it keeps sudsing and cleaning. but it doesn't leave a waxy shine. it does clean well. no streaking. so far i can say honestly i like it.

Yeah Turtle Wax Zip Wax (the soap) is wonderful. It isn't a wax, as the name claims, but it is a great detergent and if you mix it in warm water, it really gets the bugs and grime off.

Don't know about the druability but WOW what a shine!!!!! Just used it yesterday and it is fantastic! What a shine!!!! Don't know about this Zaino Brothers stuff but Meguire's Gold Class is pretty darn cool. Easy to put on and easy to take off using a micro fiber towel. Easiest wax on, wax off I've ever done. Who cares if it lasts....it's so darn easy to put on and take off!!!!!

BrianV...you've got a Max like mine.....try it you'll be amazed.

Cheers

ZYMOL

ZYMOL it's the best stuff you can buy for your cars finish.
Turtle Wax Zip Wax is great stuff. Armorall makes a great car wash too. Give that a try, it leaves the rubber a little rich looking.

Waxing...?

Do you guys do a regular wax? If so what kind and how often do you do it? I am gonna do mine soon but need to figure out how ( i know i know i just never did it before). Also is there a wax that you recommend. I know This has been mainly washing. Any techniques also to the waxing stages?

Looks like meguire's is taking this one, but I use eagle one, it lathers good and the suds last a long time. I have never used the meguire's but I think I will have to try now.

Car Wash....Mother's California Gold. Great stuff, lots of suds, cleans well, and smells like bubble gum. Have to admit that I'm gonna try the ZipWax car wash after reading the good comments. Especially the ease of bug removal.

Car Wax....Just tried the Meguire's Gold Class wax. WOW!!!!! They weren't kidding when they say that it is formulated for clear coat. What a shine!!!!!

Saw a great looking truck. Great shine. The guy says he uses Prestone Bullet wax. Anyone hear of it. Find it at PEP Boys. Looked as good as Meguire's Gold Class. He says that it came out number 2 in consumer reports. Man, wonder what #1 was.

Cheers

Tried the Zymol a while back and really didn't like it. In fact I've still got the original bottle. Hear that Zymol is now made by KMart or WalMart now? Wonder what they've done to it? Contracted it out to Simonez?????

i use the stuff from griots garage (www.griotsgarage.com) -- the car wash, and the "best of show" wax. it is some *AWESOME* stuff; i always get compliments from people ("your car is sooo shiny"). don't forget to clay the car to make the finish super smooth.

my max gets a bath this weekend!

after you wash the car and get the surface dirt off, and after you do polishing (i don't, only on specific areas like bird dropping etchings), then i do the clay bar to get the stuck-on particles off of the car. the waxing comes next...

Is there any way to get the bird crap outline outta the paint? My car sat for two hours under a shady tree today but came out lookin' like the bottom of a bird cage. Only one bird crap wouldn't come cleanly off and left a mark. Anything good to get rid of that?

hmmm...haven't clay barred it yet, but I have tried surface cleaner before and that didn't work. Guess the clay bar would be the last line of defense. Thanks!

bird poop etchings

the only way i have found to remove the bird poop etching (on the clear coat) is to use an abrasive polish. i used the "fine hand polish" (they have different levels of abrasiveness) from griots garage (www.griotsgarage.com) and i have been able to take off the bird etchings and scuff marks (i dont know what made them).

the clay bar doesnt remove the bird poop etching.

Re: bird poop etchings

I use Armor All car wash detergent. It seems to work pretty well, and I don't even use much. I use about a capful of detergent per gallon.
