CD Err, and its solutions

okay. so, when i had my I30, my bose HU was giving me the classic CD Err, so i went to eBay and got a 6-CD Pathfinder HU and it went right in, with only 1 mod required (that was to drill new holes on the bracket because it stuck out about 1/2" too far). it worked like a charm, and i miss it. BUT when i traded it in for the Max, i didn't exactly find the right time to take it back out and put the old HU back in.

here's the thing: the max HU is basically ****ed as well, and i want that 6CD again. however, i found a 2005-6 Altima 6CD and i like it even more than the Pathy 6CD (it's brand new and comes in 3 colors! w00t!!!). my question is, will it work? the seller says it will only fit the altima...

but i really want it lol

TIA,
-tyler

i dont see how it could "only be for the altima". Just looks like a double din HU. I think it would work. let others chime in i might be wrong

The HU should physically fit in. I only question 2 points:
1 - our dashes are flat, the Hu faceplate is flat. 5th gen maxima started curved dash so the faceplate on the HU is curved. I don't know about the Altima flat or curved.
2 - minor detail, but you may need wiring adaptors to plug it in.

Altima radio face is too wide to fit in the Max opening. Not by much, maybe 6-8mm or so. But definitely not a bolt in.

I have compared them side by side and determined it was not worth the hassle, when the PF 6-CD works so great.
