I'm looking just to do a drain and refill on the tranny fluid. How much should I have on hand? I believe doing this changes about 1/3 of the fluid. I've read that Daniel B. change his every oil change. That would keep his tranny fluid relatively fresh. Also, what standard fluid should I use. There are quite a few to choose from. I guess I don't the ones that prevents leaks. And I don't really need that Redline stuff.

 

I bought 6 litres of tranny fluid but used only 4 and a bit when I installed my B&M Supercooler.

 

I think they are all good, so I buy whichever name brand product is on sale when I am in the store.

 

How many quarts do you use up if you just drain and refill?

 

About four. Have five quarts on hand, just in case.

 

Mine took 3.5qts .. i use Mobil 1 Synth Atf .. I got bored and did my own "flush" last time, just drained, and ran another bottle of cheaper synth thru it .. then plugged it and filled it.
