Im just curious what kind of techniques people have used to shave the MAXIMA emblem off the rear trunk lid. My car is Black by the way, so Im also curious if the paint around it is going to be faded enough to see the "shadow".
Thanks,

Adam

do it when its hot or use a hair drier and heat up the emblem al little bit then get fishing line/dental floss and start "sawing" the emblem off cutting throught the tape. there will be some tape left there so you could use some alcohol or that goo gone stuff people are always talking about to get it all off. For the nissan burger I just basically pulled it off without using dental floss. after its all shaved, buff/polish it to get off that shadow if there is one

i did mine this morning, dental floss, no heat, took off the adhesive with my fingernails, used stuff similr to googone to get it completly off, then wshed and waxed a couple times, very little discoloration, its on a 95 thats always exposed to the Texas sun, middle of A's was only fade that can still be seen

another method

You could do like I did:

Have a toyota camry hit you in the rear quarter panel, and whent the body shop does the repair, tell them to leave the emblems off. Got to tell you though, this method isn't highly recommended by other org members. He**, I really don't recommend this method

I'll tell you how to do it when we meet up on sunday. I did mine and no paint came off. Did you heat up the glue first?

Hmmm...thats odd, maybe you heated it too long. How long did you heat it for and what did you use to heat it with?
