Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice on tires and struts. My Max is a stock 96 GLE. I'm looking to keep the same ride/performance when it was new. I was looking at KYB GR-2s and Dunlop D60A2s. Does this seem like a good combo or not? Also, I heard the D60A2s were replaced by the SP Sport A2s, is this true, and if so have you heard anything about these new tires?

I'm not a big fan of the Dunlops. If you're looking for a decent all-season tire with good wear, look at the Potenza RE950

I currently have the RE950 on my stock 16" rims. I was thinking about going with RE730 on my new 17" rims, since the Re950 does not offer 225/45/17. Would you reccomend these as well? I have been real happy w/ the RE950.

I forgot to mention I have the stock 15" rims but would like to use a 215/60R15 tire. Are the Potenza 950s available in that size?

I have that tire in that size on my car. They are amazing, especially in the rain. A very good performance tire for the stock size.

Yes, the 950s are available in that size (I sell them for $79 if you're wondering).

SC, the RE730s are excellent tires. They are more performance oriented over the 950s so don't expect as long tire life. The 300ZX guys use the 730s due to the good price, excellent grip, and decent tire life.

Phuong,
That is a pretty good price on the 950. How much do you sell the 730 for in 225/45/17 or can you get it?

Hey Jason
I have a 95GLE...I have exactly what you are considering...orig 15" wheels/Dunlop D60A2-205/60R15
This is my second set. I really like them. Even better than the first set. Much quieter than the first set. Something must have changed in the composition of the tire for it to be so much quieter than the first set. Also if my memory serves me correctly, this set is now rated AA for traction. Consumer Reports rated these tires very High.

Tampa95GLE,

A friend has a 95SE with the D60s and he swears by them. I appreciate everyones advice but I would like to keep the price as low as possible. The D60s are affordable. Dunlop is now seeling the D60s replacement: SP Sport A2. Have you heard anything about thes tires? I probably go with them and the KYB GR-2 struts.
