Cut Springs?

can someone tell me what cutting your springs really does to the suspension and to the quality of the springs or any effects the cut has on the car any info would be appreciated thanx

cutting stock springs will make the ride really bouncy and will kill your struts. cutting lowering springs that are progreesive rate are not that bad, at least not for me. i cut about one coil off my APEX springs and the ride was great.

Don't even THINK about cutting your springs. Not only will you lay waste to your struts in a hurry, you will also destroy your ride quality. You may even ruin the suspension geometry to the point of DANGER to you and your passengers.

If you wish to lower your car, invest in a good set of lowering springs. The good manufacturers include Eibach, H&R, Suspension Techniques, and others. It's a good idea to get sport struts at the same time, to handle the stronger springs. Don't forget to have an alignment done, too!

For every one person who "successfully" cuts their springs, there are probably 20 folks who just ruin their suspension. I repeat: Don't do it...

cutting your stock springs?

I thought the only people that did that were not-really big ballahs in tha brix with they mid/late 80s caddies.
