So alot of times when i start my car it struggles a little bit, i can hear it try to turn over, so i'm guessing thats the starter thats making the noise, but it'll take a little while before it it actually starts, and one time i left my lights on for only like 90 minutes and my car was would not start at all, so from this can anybody tell if a new battery will solve my problems or if it a larger problem?

Battery

Sounds like it is the battery. Most autoparts stores will load test your battery for free. Then of course they will be glad to sell you one.

Get a new one.

If the battery is leaking, get a new one.

Another possiblity is your alternator.

and that's not charging the battery enough.
your battery can be low on juice. Charge it. Go to the parts store and check it.

maybe that may be the problem.
