Spanked a Miata
Well tonight i was out cruising, came up to a red light, looked over and there was a miata next to me, i looked closer and noticed it was an aniversry edition, and he revved it up at me, and trust me, this was no stock rev, and it was all engine, no cheap exhast pipe making all the noise, it was a manual as wel, well i had two other people with me in my car, so the light turns and for some reason i didnt launh it, just mashed the gas a little, not to the ground, just about half way, well there were a few cars out there, so anyway around 50 or so i have almost a whole car on him, and then i a car pulls out in front of him, so he slows down and i went ahead and shut it down, so heres the comparison:
A miata anniversary souped up manual, very lightweight, only the driver in the car
A nissan maxima stock on the engine (i have a lot of show, still working on the go) auto with 3 people in the car, very heavy compared to the miata
The final verdict:
my max won, we rule!

no really though, i used to have one. if you mod it up and leave it NA, youre still in the civic's with I/H/E league. unless you turbo it, they wont be as fast as you want it to be....

A 10th anniverasary 99' M2 is good for a 15.8-15.9 with a good driver. That is the fastest of the breed stock. Even with the light mods on my 00', it will only do a 15.7 at best(it dynoed a big ol' 114 rwhp).
On the other hand, last week I race a 95-96' Pebble Beige GXE Auto or GLE on my way to work 3 times from a 70 roll and took him 3 times. On the same day, on the way home I did a quick run with a 91-94' SE(5sp or auto?) and took a second Max road kill. I don't know whether I should be happy, since the slow Miata actually beat something, or sad because I am a Maxima owner and both of these outcomes are pathetic to our breed.

Its all in the hands of the driver
Ive raced a little hatchback civic in my moms car and hung with that thing down the highway in my town...my moms car mind you is a 99 jetta 5spd 4 cyl and I pretty much showed up a kid in a car that had "All throttle NO Bottle" on his back window
with confidence the car performs
also on back roads in PA ive hung with BMW 330i's in my max and modded mustangs that try to get away from me and hit about 110 on this little backroad...and never gain a foot
its all in fun people
