braking = steering wheel vibration
My problem is, when I step on the brakes at high speeds (70+), my steering wheel vibrates pretty bad, to the point where I can actually see it shaking up. I'm guessing that my rotors are warped or uneven. I had them resurfaced twice, I guess its time to get some new rotors. What are your inputs on this. Thanks. Another problem is, I've been getting a lot of steering vibrations at idle lately. I have a '98 GXE and just recently changed the fuel filter. But the steering vibrations happened before I changed the filter. RPM seems to be at normal: 550 RPM. And this happened a few times: when stopped at a light, my idle dropped to around 250-300 RPM, causing the car to all shake up. Seems strange especially when I have only about 33,500 miles. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: alignment problem?
I've had that problem aswell when I tap on the brakes at 70+ MPH, I think it's the brakes because when I had my brakes changed in the front it went away, but as with any front wheel drive car, there will be a little bit of vibration in the steering wheel when you brake at high speeds. As far as the RPMs dropping, you should take it to shop and have them clean your fuel injectors, I noticed that the rpms are more stable after I had mine cleaned. Not sure if that's the solution but you might as well give it a shot.

Not true. With everything in proper working order there shoudl be no vibration in the wheel. FWD has nothing to do with it.
