I installed my cone intake earlier this week and have some questions about the stock intake tubing. I took off the box with the filter in it and installed my cone. Then I took off the tubing leading to that box and was happy with it off until I saw a sensor dangling in the engine that came from that tube. Then I put it back on just to be safe. What is that sensor? Can I just zip tie it to something? And why does that tube branch off and go somewhere under the battery? I was gonna take the battery off and have a look but I couldn't get the battery loose. I was really just worried if everything will still work fine if I take that scoop and tubing off. Thanks.

I installed a cone filter a couple of weeks ago as you did...However, I recommend keeping the stock scoop, when the car is moving it will bring in cool air from outside, it dumps the air very close to where the cone would be...

I agree with Mitch, leave it there unless you need it off for a reason. The senosr is the Ambient Air Temperature Sensor, it tells the ECU what the temperature is outside.
