I currently have Tokico / Eibach and hate it. The lowering is whack, rear sags, not low enough, and the ride is harsh. I'm planning on going to H&R or ST / Tokico (maybe Koni). Which one lowers the car more, which one rides better. And what degree better is one than the other?

I also need to know how GC's ride at a 1.5-2" drop on Tokico.

Swap out to the current Eibachs, they lower it much more evenly than the first generation Eibachs.

If you think Eibach/Tokico is harsh, go H&R/Tokico. Not sure about ST as the only car I've ridden in with ST springs is Homie97SE, and he cut his ST springs.

GC + Tokico isn't gonna be pretty. If you think Eibach/Tokico is harsh, please don't do Ground Control/Tokico. Please.

Is it worthwhile to go to the Konis? I don't have all the money in the world and I already have Tokicos. How does the H&R lowering cmpare to my Eibachs?

Re:ST vs H&R

I've had my H%Rs on for a month now...the drop was only about 3/4" in the front and an even inch in the front. It rides very close to stock but you feel the change in bounce response on speedbumps. I would recommend them if ya can find 'em because the company doesn't make them new anymore from what I have heard.

Anyone know how the Suspension Techniques ride is. Closer to the HR or Eibach? How much do they lower the car?

i have the H&R/Tokico Blue combo. I love the ride. Its very close to stock, but when you go with aftermarket rims and low pro tires, you WILL feel the bumps and cracks in the road while driving.
As for the Tokicos going bad after 6K thats bull****!! mine have over 6k and are perfeclty fine and well worth the money.
It handles awsome on hard turns, i only have the FSTB, but iam gettin the Stillen RSB for even better handeling. the H&R's gave me a 1.5 drop front and rear. Very nice height for everyday driving. If you want to slam your ride, go INTRAX but be warned that you will bottom out everywhere!

I love my ST springs....

They dropped my car 1.7" in the front and 1.5" in the rear. They are firm, but never harsh. I've had them one for over a year now. They're a great deal (~$170 a set).

I have the H&R / tokico setup and its

alright, but my tokico's have definetly softened up some. I am looking to go to koni's soon. It no way near a lincoln towncar type soft, but I need something stiffer.

I ordered my ST's today. My shop is getting them for $170. I hope the lowering looks better and the ride is better than the Eibachs.

I have Progress Technology Sport Springs 1.5" Drop with my stock struts. The ride is real good also I'm running the stock tire wheel size Enkei 15x6.5" on 205/65R15. I got the springs from lightningmotorsports.com for $179.00 with free S&H. a real good deal to me. They are not the Eibachs,Intrax,Groundcontrols,or whatever but I'm satisfied. I have seen an air bag kit for Maxs that lower fom 0-4" just like the coilovers. But my opinion Maxes do not look good dropped very low and you will bottom out every where. Just a nice 1.5" drop to reduce the big fender gap and maybe some big 17" or 18" rims to fill up the fender well. But the bigger the rim the smaller/stiffer the sidewall is so the ride will be harsher even without springs. Thats why mine rides good is because I have the stock tire and rim size. But you sacrifice funtion for style.

I've had the ST/Tokico combo on my '95 Maxima SE for about 3 years now. The ride's firm but not harsh, just like the day I bought them. Great cornering, and little dive under hard breaking. I also have Stillen RSB, FSTB & RSTB. Slot car...

bullseye how low is it. How does the ride and lowering compare to Eibach/Tokico. I don't mid stiffness but the Eibachs seem too stiff when the car is loaded or travelling over REAL rough surfaces at slow speeds. I went with the ST's over the H&R's because I want the car a little lower than it is with my eibachs and I was afraid the car would be about the same with the H&R.

I do not have personal experience with Eibachs, so I can't compare them with the ST's on my car. The ST's lowered my vehicle about 1.4" front and back. I mounted some 16 x 7.5 O-Z Racing Monte Carlo wheels and 225/50/16 Michelin Pilot XGT Z4 tires on my car, too. Most of the time, the only thing I notice about the ride is how well the car handles: Much better than stock! On EXTREMELY rough surfaces, like on a dirt "wash board" road, I have to drive about 5 mph so I don't chip my own teeth! But then, I didn't buy my Maxima for off road use, either... I like what I have.
