i just bought a set of 5 spoke se wheels.. they are in good shape but have a few minor curb marks. i would like to know if anyone has ever took the time to refinish them. i am guessing i would chemically clean them, sand the marks out, prime, paint, and clear coat them. is this too hard of a task should i have them professionally done ? any info or suggestions is appreciated....louis

I haven't done this myself but a friend had his bmw rims refinished. The process involves removing the entire finsh and powder coating. Paint will not hold up the rigors of daily driving. The few times I painted wheels, the finish fell off within a year. I would look into this service, I don't think it too much money but definitely worth it.
