'97GXE uses #194 bulbs in guages or others?

Sorry for brining up a tired subject again, but I need to make this clear. I am interested in switching mine to blue LEDs, but people have been saying that 97s and up stopped using #194 bulbs. Is that true, or is it only true for 98+?
My 97GXE has white needles, unlike the 97SE. Thanks.

my 97 gxe has 194 so there you go, be happy now you can put in leds

They are still 194's. I have a 97 and I replaced mine with 194's.

What about a '99 GLE? Can we also use the #194 leds?

I'm trying to get the VW look in the guage cluster if that is possible.

Nope ... 99's have a tiny tiny bulb that's not #194s.
