If it's a 5-spd, it has the same powertrain as an Eclipse...200hp 3.0L V6. It should be a good race.

I'm so tired of these "will I win this race?" posts. Just do it. It's street racing, try not to take it too seriously (well, safety wise, be ****, but this is street racing anyway...). If you've bet money on the race, or talked so much smack that your ego and reputation will be ruined if you lose...you need to get the hell over it. So what, their car might be faster, yours might...WHO CARES?

Just do it. Race them, see who wins. Then you know a little more than when you started and you had some fun along the way.

Read the "2001 Eclipse GT Spyder - killed..." thread. If I killed an auto that bad you should be close to a 5-speed eventhough your not heavly moded. I think he will win a 0-80 race by about 2 car lengths, but you should hang close, maybe even closer than that.

I beat an auto with the V6 easily with my auto. And that was before I had any mods.

As long as you don't put money on it, or put your slip on it like an idiot, I would go for it. You have nothing to lose.

The auto/sportronic eclipses are slow. They only put down 150hp to the wheels when stock. Weighing in at just over 3k pounds, it isn't exactly light either. Now, add a convertable top to the mix and you can forget about trying to drag race that pig.

Nismo, stick your launch and hope that the guy driving the Stratus shifts slow.

i think it might be close...

I just wonder how much the Stratus weighs, which I would ossume is more... that could make a big difference right there, also depends how good of a driver the other guy is. I've driven one of those new V6 Stratuses, but it was an auto.. wasn't impressed much, my old beat up 3rd gen felt quicker at the time
