This is off the topic but the general forum is closed.
Okay, this guy comes up and is by himself in a Honda Ra***a. If you don't know what this is, its a family sports car with a north south 2.5 5 cylinder but is front wheel drive. Weird??! Anyway, this one was a manual so I thought it would be a hard challange since I have an Auto 95 with the 2.5 VQ. So we drag off and he stays even till 80km where I pull slowly. (ps I had 2 other people). next drag the same except this time I load the trans up, but it still bogs terribly. third time I do a neural drop from rev limiter which is the only way to stop bog, and by the time he hits 60, we're neck and neck, but I gain while he changes to 2nd. his shifts were perfect, but there was enough for me to gain. Anyway later on we weigh the cars (there is a weigh bridge at a factory near the town that is left on sometimes, I come in at 1390 kg with fulltank, no people, 1650 with three people. The Honda was 1350 (car) and 1430 with driver.

On the third launch, did you leave your tranny at the light?

Cause if you keep doing neutral drops, you might as well, cause its gonna be f*cked up.

Its all good, just dont do that anymore...When I go to the streets or strip to drag I torque brake it. I push hard on the brake pedal with my left foot and rev the engine up to 2000-2500 depending on how smooth the surface is where I will launch from. Tires will spin a little, but then grab and you shouldnt have any bog.

I do that and get lots of bog. Isn't there a torque converter mod that helps this? I was talking to this auto trans guy about a vb upgrade and he was saying something about stall speed but i didn't really understand...

Isnt loading the tranny bad too?
my 1st car was a Mitsi Sigma 1.8 diesel turbo auto.
I used to do that all the time to get the turbo going so I could keep up with the likes of geo metros and anything under .8 litre. i ended up having only 1,2,3, no OD, No Rev, Park was 1st gear, Neutral was 1st gear.... buggered

Thats odd...I launch at 2000-2500 all the time. Maybe it was just a weak tranny?

The trans is not meant to be abused like that. I did it a total of about 7 times in a week and on a saturday the final time I did it I lost OD,3,and 2nd I drove home in 1st very sad.You are putting some much strain on the trans by doing this.An auto isnt built to handle that many RPM at once.

Yes, thats what I did, except i did it about 30 or 40 times, the guy said it was like riding the clutch in a manual box and it had worn down that one of the many clutches in it had welded itself together causing the 1st gear in P,R,N and no OD.

Then I scrapped that car, got a mitsi tredia, burnt the clutch in that (4 speed supershift), got a toyota cressida, didnt like that, traded the cressida and tredia which was still drivable in on my 1st max, 89 se auto. then it blew heater core which stuffed ecu, so fixed then tradedit on mitsi magna 3.0 v6 5 sd. traded that on toyota corolla, 3 wks later hated the corolla so got the 4th gen. And Im only 18.

what did you do with your maxima letters?
I will buy them if you want to sell.

Well actually, I only need the M A X M A as i already have an I from the CEFIRO. but theyre probably different lettering anyway. what do you think?

I'd sell them but both M's and both A's got bent when i took them off...sorry...and the I is somewhere at the dump since i didnt think having one letter would do any good.

No problem. Try going to the local nissan dealer and ask them how much it would cost to have them order the letters...or go to a junk yard and take them off a maxima...unless there arent any around you. (Maximas that is)
