Jim wolf chip worth it? others?

I have been away from the maxima pages for awhile, and now I want to replace the computer in it. What I wanna know is if the JWT chip is really worth it, do you think you get 30 hp out of it? I have an auto also. I doubt there are any better companies out there for the max's but if there are please tell me. Also are they still about $550 USD (JWT)?THanks for any help. OOOOOHHHH...would a y pipe be better? whch one first? Preciate Ya!!!

Yeah there were other posts saying that with the two of them together it was unbelievable. But I would recomend the Y pipe first then if it comes up when ordering the JWT your already a step into the modding game. That way there they can add that into the specs.

You'll notice a difference in the torque between 2500-4000 rpms.
you probably won't see much difference past 5000 rpms.

probably about 10HP gain on the top end.

It is made for 92 octane use. If you live in a state that only has MTBE or Ethanol blend gas (even if it is 92 octane), i wouldn't recommend it.

Y-pipe over the ECU unless you've got the cash for a S/C

Go with the y-pipe. You'll most likey have better gains over the ecu.

JWT chip

I have been running the JWT ECU upgrade for 2 yrs now. EVERY time I get in my car I feel it, especially on the high end. Do like the other posters say, y-pipe first, intake then ECU. It made a difference in my SE. Its an easy install, hell of alot easier than the CAI or y-pipe. Good luck.

There's also the GForce ECU. Only for the 95-96 only. Some people are using it on their 97 with some minor minor problems. Haven't heard anything about the GForce ECu in a while.

Search and you'll find plenty of posts about it.
