Why does stereo whine when car is not fully charged?

Technical question here... I'm hearing alternator whine out of my subs when the battery of the car is not fully charged. When the battery becomes fully charged, the alternator whine goes away. Anybody know what the reasoning here is?

What do you mean "not fully charged", do you mean engine running at idle speed?

Usually a whine through speakers powered by an amp comes from a bad ground for that amplifier. Make sure you remove the paint from the amp ground cable, and be sure the ground cable is securely attached to whatever connector is completing the ground.

Could also be a bad ground in the stereo, that's where mine was from. It's possible that you never heard it before because you weren't sending the speakers much power. But with an amplifier, they increase everything... including noise.
So check all your grounds and make sure they are touching bare metal, not just metal. Sand or file away to reach bare metal.

Are you sure you're hearing alternator wine? I don't know if you should be getting that high of frequencies through your subs.
