Can I get a Y-pipe for my CA model car?!

I have a CA emmissions Maxi. and on everone's website (Cattman, Budget, Warpspeed, etc.), they all have a disclaimer of some sort stating their Y-Pipes are for Fed. Emission vehicles only, not CA. Is this for emission reasons only and it WILL work or should I not/ can I not buy and put one on my car? Will it fit o.k.? It won't hurt/damage my car? Will they even sell me one? If anyone from CA, NV, etc. has but one on their CA emmission Maxi., please tell me about your experience. Also, do you guys in So. Cal. with a Y, have any trouble passing smog? Thanks a million guys.

yes you can

I've had my WSP y-pipe since March and hasn't given me any emissions problems. I just recently passed a smog test a couple of weeks ago with the y-pipe. So, you shouldn't have any problems. Go buys one, you'll appreciate the performance gain.

Warpspeed doesn't have a Cali spec version of any Y-pipe. I think you're confused.

Confused about what? NOBODY has 'a Cali spec version of any Y-pipe'. Thus the reason for my original post...

WSP does NOT make a CA pipe yet. According to Dan 93SE (Co-Owner).

And yes they do make a CA Y-pipe. Stillen's new 2 piece Y-pipe is meant for 95-99 FED/CA. I have a 99 cali spec & use teh Stillen Y. With the CA spec, you will only use 1 of the 2 pieces. The Y will only eliminate 1 of the 2 precats. The gains are there, jsut wont be as much as FEDs. I hope this clears it up.

I assume you are taking about 1999+ cali spec. Cattman makes one and so does Stillen. If you are talking about 95 cali-spec, then I have no clue.

The YG4 Y pipe from Cattman will fit your car. The listing on the web site is a but hard to undestande. I had the same problem. What cattman's site is saying is that the YG4 Y pipe will 95-99 Maxima's, Federal or CA emissions, AND on the 99 model only, just the federal model.

What about 98?

Any idea of Budget ones are able to be gotten for Cal-Spec. I am from Ma. But I think the car is CA spec. I tried E-mailing them but no responce.

Oh boy, I am thouroughly confused now!!! So they DO make a CA specific Y? Great. So I can't just buy a Fed. Y and stick it on, huh? Why not? Thanks guys.
