CAI Install

WTF I just got done putting the Place Racing CAI in the Max. Well wouldn't ya know I got this vaccum can thingy right where the pipe curves to go in the wheel well. Is it just the 99 Max's that have this. No big deal just relocated it. Then it tells me to drill 3 3/8 drill holes. WTH Never told me what to do with them ohh well I guess now its just lighter. Pretty smooth other than that. Took it out very nice I nailed it to almost the redline and people are looking around like wtf is coming. Not sure on power increase but I am sure it's there:

I had the same prob on my 99. I had to move my air-conister so i could fit the CAI properly. The air-canister is for emissions.

As for the 3 holes, i never had to drill 3 holes.

The only thing in the instructions that talked about the 3 holes were for the templete for the hole cut out. That was suppose to be screwed down by the 3 bolts that hold down the battery plate.

And yes, the gains are there. Be sure to reset the ECU so it will reprogram itself with the new setup (more air). Disconnecting the battery will not do this for the Maxima.

1. How difficult was the install of the CAI? (how long did it take)

2. How do you reset the ECU without disconnecting the battery?
