re: rims

I plan to get 18" chrome rims myself in spring 2002...right now i got
hub caps. 17"-18" is like adding couple of people to your car and u'll have same weight.

go for the looks as well as performance...you can do both which is the best in my opion, u gott have the looks as well as performance.

I have verdicts in 18. Get 19's. Or you'll be ****ed everytime you see someone else with them. At least if you got the big dogs yours are the best! Na thats bad logic.

Get what you can afford. But not verdicts cause I have em. Kiddin.

Couldn't have said it better myself. And I wouldn't be saying that because I have 17"s, its because they are light(er) weight, still look big, and you will get complements. Believe me I have people walk around my car asking my if I have "dubs". True they probably know NOTHING about cars and wheels, but for someone to think that and me know how light my wheels are makes me a happy man.

HAHA, I had them first! j/k I have them in the silver 18x8's. I think 18's are they way to go, I had 17's and I felt that they weren't big enough, I also thought that they came standard on some cars e.g. BMW's, and SE Maximas so it basically looks like you have factory wheels to some people. Now 19's are really nice, just don't plan to go over pothole infested roads.

Get 18's. After I got my 17's, all the latest models are coming standard with 17s (I30s, Maximas, Altimas come with them as an optoin, etc.). So now I want 18s...i think anything larger looks too overstated.

Exactly, 17's are usuall from the factory on most cars, just get the 18's. My question noq is, why is there so many other brands knocking off the Verdicts? e.g. ADR, and Katana (well everyone knows they copy a lot of brands)

oh.. one more thing.. dont be swayed by people telling you that your ride will suffer on 18's compared to 17's. its all in the tire size. dont get something too low-profile. put it this way.. i have a 95 gle, my friend has a 96 gle. my friend has stock struts, springs, and 17" chromies with low pro's. i have h&r springs, kyb struts, rsb, 18" eneiki(spelling) v1's with a nice size tire. my car handles better, and has a more comfortable ride than his. ive been in both cars plenty of times so i know, plus we live in nyc, so there's the real test. i saw no difference in my ride from when i had 16's to when i threw the 18's on other than turning cause these are wider. not to mention, he's blown out 3 tires already and bent all 4 rims slighty. (steel rims).. your tires are going to affect your ride the most. dont buy anything too low profile, and get a soft tire.. my tires are 245/40/r18 toyo's. i would HIGHLY recomend them and i wouldnt recomend buying a set of very light 18" rims either. one bad pothole and you'll be doing this to try and straighten them out.. kiss that money goodbye

Uhhh, that is not entirely true. If you buy lightweight wheels, they are going to be expensive, The higher priced rims hold up better than the lower priced rims. My rims are stronger that the Konig copies of mine. Its that simple.

I saw this thread and I wanted to ask a couple of questions. How do you find the offset of wheels? Is there a website I could go to? I plan on upgrading brakes also. Any suggestions? Should I do a whole brake kit or piece it together?

17's are perfect. You have to be careful with 18's plus it costs alot more to replace the tires when needed.
