I found a summary description of this device at http://shop.store.yahoo.com/machv/hksveinpresc.html . The claimed benefits are ...
1) Removal of a major restriction in the intake.
2) The freedom to control air/fuel mixture.
For that horsepower claim to be true ...
1) The Maxima MAFS would have to be a major restriction (I don't believe that).
2) You have to know enough about fuel mapping to do a better job than the Nissan MAFS (I don't believe that either).
To top it off they offer this warning:
This is a powerful and sophisticated device that should be used with great care to avoid damaging your engine.
That warning, along with the price tag, ought to scare you off.

you dont really need it unless your running alot of power to get rid of that restriction or you are maxing out the MAF sensor and need to convert it to speed density. After you get this setup, you gotta fine tune it to pull any horsepower out of it.
