i say go for it! it prob won't add enough power to be worth the $5 a gallon you'll have to pay, but if it does blow your cat off, replace it with a better flowing one, or a piece of 2.5" pipe. that can only yeild positive results.

CAM 2 gas. It's available at select gas stations. There is one here in Waldwick, NJ that sells it. I believe it's about 5.99 or more a gallon. Don't know what the octane rating is. Usually you mix one gallon of that with a full tank of regular fuel. I don't think I'd run the car on that stuff straight. Remember the higher the octane rating, the SLOWER the burn. Hance to much octane = loss of power.

Actually, jet fuel is more like dirty diesel... Your car probably wouldn't run at all on JP5 or JP8...

Re: Jet fuel ????

For God's sake, everyone please listen to me. OCTANE has nothing to do with performance. OCTANE IS A RATING OF THE GASOLINE'S RESISTENCE TO DETONATION. Gas shouldn't combust, it should burn. If your car runs without knocking when you use regular unleaded, then that is what you should use.

You will destroy your engine. I used to work with aircraft and the fuel is like syrup. It's called jet-a and jet-b fuel, a form a diesel.

Jet fuel is NOT diesel. Most jet fuels is a mixture of kerosene.

if it's not i have used it for diesel motors and there we fine. but again i was told is was a cleaner form od diesel and stuck it in a OLD vw rabbit diesel and it ran. along with some other applications. but you could be right. i was just trying to tell him NOT to use actual jet fuel also known as jp-5 jp-8 depending on where you are

JP5, JP8, JetA JetB, are all Jet fuel ratings. JP8 has antifreeze additives, and works fine on most jet engines, but will blow out some in warm weather. Think of it like octane ratings. On the T58-GE-16 (a helicopter gas turbine engine) JP5 is used normally, and JP8 in cold weather. JP8 can be used in hot weather, but fuel control adjustments must be made, or you can blow out the compressor... Most actual Jets, ie F/A 18, F-16, use JP-8 though...

RE: my b

my b. when I was referring jet fuel I was talking about I was going to mix 93 octane with 105 octane to get alit boosts or should I just buy a bottle of that NOS octane booster instead from autozone?

I have done it and I think its a waste. My car runs fine on 93.

Yeah, it turns out that Diesel is pretty much kerosene too, so you're kind of right...

jet fuel, diesel, kerosene... all the same basic stuff at different stages of refinement/additives.

Don't bother with higher octane ie. 101 unless you have HIGHER compresion than stock and are running NOS with much colder plugs. Just a waste of $$$ and it won't give you any benefits.

Just use NOS

Forget high octane stuff. Spend the $700 and get instant 70-100 horses.
