97 ECU question

I'm trying to buy a "97 SE MT ECU". I was looking on car-part.com and it has three different production dates for it. Do they differ from each other in any way.

There is:
Thru 10/96
11/96 only
From 12/96

Again is there any difference between them?

For it to work the best you should get an ECU with the same prodution date as your car.....they have very slight differences but nothing that major...

Well I actually have a 96 maxima. I'm just trying to see what would be the best one to work in my car. And yes I have reasons why I'm not getting a 96 ECU.
