After market intakes

I have been considering replacing my stock intake. But not for the common reasons. I am not really into racing, but I do work on my own car often. And it seems like every other time I do, this retardedly huge intake is all in my way and it needs to ripped it out. It seem like there are really cheap after market ones on one end, and 200-300$ ones on the other.

This is what I am looking for
*Something that doesnt cost an arm and a leg (50-100$)
*the smaller the better

BTW: what engineer thought up putting that empty box in, that comes out of the intake after the filter?

Check out this site. It has the different kinds of intakes you could do with pricing. What it doesn't have it the HAI which is just cutting into your own air box which in turn sounds as if you have an intake. And you could also build your own.

well you can go on ebay and get a short ram intake and that wont take up a lot of room or a cai but cutting a hole in the fender firewall you might need to do but both are cheap.

that empty box and all that extra tubes that look like their useless is used to quite down your intake cuz aftermarket ones are very loud when your on the throttle but sound very good in my opinion.

It’s for sound control. I will the JWT/Stillen. Simplest out there.

Stillen works great for me. Quiet during normal driving, MEAN when I get on it. I would have yielded for the JWT, but I got the Stillen for a price I couldnt refuse.

smart, nissan engineers. thats basically like a reservoir box, to keep the intake quite. think of it as like the 2 pre cats on the stock y-pipes.
