this is as close to a step by step thread as you'll probably find:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=373884

there are other threads in the all motor forum with people that are currently working on the project too.
http://forums.maxima.org/forumdisplay.php?f=61

all in all, it's not hard to do. if you're working by yourself, clear a weekend to complete everything, just to be safe.

why would you buy an entire dek and do an 00vi swap if you don't even know how to do it? That's such a waste of money. Also if you bought the entire de-k I would swap the motors instead of the 00vi swap. Better hp that way.

Ok, the all caps in both posts = annoying.

Myself and Augusta Moon are in the progress of a swap. I have yet to receive my kit, but I will soon. Check the two threads in the All Motor forum. You SERIOUSLY need to do research on this before you do it. Its not hard, but TRUST ME, you CANT do it. Not until you actually read. Id say read about 20 different threads on the 00vi, that should cover a lot of it.

Oh, and generally people ask questions about details, like the egr guide tube, or something. Not "HELP ME PLEASE EXPLAIN EVERY STEP AS I INSTALL MY 00VI WITH A SCREWDRIVER AND PEICE OF GUM". Read up and then ask us questions when you're educated. That's all we're saying.

+1, just swap motors if the DE-K is good

DARN TOOTIN'! Your best bet is Ceaser's thread or my own. I do have some experience with mechanics but you still need to read before you even start. Also, make sure you have the proper tools, a Chilton or Haynes manual, and lots of free time. I've been on this a week, mainly because I was short on important parts, but sometimes things happen. Make sure you label everything and keep most of the 4th Gen parts. You may need them later on. Good luck to you! Haha I wish I would've gotten that warning before hand.

Just swap the whole motor unless there are problems with the DEK. There are plenty of threads out there with all the information of how to do the motor swap. If you have not donated to have the advanced search feature, it is well worth it. I spent probably 20+ hours reading up on the swap before I started and had all my parts set aside before removing the first bolt.
