BRAKE light on

Hey all,

My BRAKE light turned on a couple days ago and will not shut off. everything looks ok as far as the cables go. i read the sticky and it said the ALT fuse may be blown but this was if both the brake and battery light came on. could this still be the issue? (can't check...at work)

thanks.

If you are low on fluid check for leaks, it does not just evaporate.

Actually it will get lower as the pads wear down. Check the fluid, and if it's low, odds are you are going to need brakes sometime soon.

This has been indirectly stated in this thread already

I just had this problem, put some break fluid in, and started to notice leaks around my rear passenger wheel, figured OK its the break line, well I was wrong, turns out my caliper was cracked, hopefully you don't run into the same trouble I did.

I have never come across a cracked caliper....that could have been really bad.

Brake system loses all pressure = to your brakes.

Not good traveling @ 75MPH and you need to slow/stop quick.
