exaust installation

exaust installation

does anione know of a write up for this because i started putting in my stillen cat-back and the mid pipe looks like its welded to the cat, should i just cut it off? i really dont feel like buying a new cat rite now

straight pipe FTL.....just take a power grinder and cut the bolts off. or if you dont care about the b pipe on there now hack saw it off then use the grinder.

Was it just clamped togethor and had tack welds put in place to take care of previously cut off rusty bolts? That's what it sounds like to me. If that's the case just grind the tack welds down and wiggle the F out of it until it breaks free. Without pics this is all I can geuss was done, I can't imagine somebody welded the two flanges 360*, that would be ludicrous and troublesome to deal with.

yeah i cut the bolts off mine with a mini grinder w/cut off blade. then drilled holes for new bolts/nuts. good luck.

Running test pipes IMO is really lame, especially in Maximas. Makes them sound worse then stock, bad for the environment, and not worth the effort.

I feel ya', I don't think I've ever come across one's that didn't have to be cut off. If I could go back in time though to before I had a welder I'd just pay the $20 to have an exhaust shop tack weld the flanges instead of laying on my back dealing with drilling out new holes and what not.

haha got it , it sucked but i finnaly got it on... doesn't sound too shabby its accually not really that loud which is good, next on my hit list is headers, y-pipe and hi-flow cat

Well I got it for free and needed a new cat b/c mine wasnt working out.....wouldnt create a good seal and was leaking on both sides.....so ehh....
