Need a second opinion
To you 4th gen owners out there.
I have a 97 SE that needs massive work. I bought it with 100K miles 2 years ago. It has 166K now. The work that needs to be done will cost about 1500.
I came across a 95 GLE with the same mileage that runs like a dream. The seller is asking 3000. Its very clean and smooth. Do you guys think that it would be a good buy for the price and the mileage. Also considering the fact that i will have just about every repair part i need if i keep the 97?? What do you guys thing??

Well the body on the 95 is better than th body on the 97. And you are right, all of that work will eventually have to be done on the 95. I might not even buy it after thinking about it. I should try to but something newer.

I'd be tempted too. But if I were you I'd just fix your current Maxima. Maximas are wonderfully built machines and very reliable. Take care of it and it will take care of you.
Once you make those repairs you won't have any problems for a while. But if you want to have the '95 too then go for it. But either way I'd keep driving your 97. I suggest just repairing the '97.
If you want to buy another Maxima try and buy something newer.

I would look at the both and see witch on needs more work on eliminate that and keep the one that's good meaning the one that does not need any major work on. I would go with the 97 a little newer plus you know whats wrong with it and it's yours to start out with. If you really want to buy it then go ahead and buy it and use it as a parts car.
