E-brake

E-brake

My E-brake doesn't work how do I find out which cable is broken?

look at the position of both cable ends at the calipers ( note length of flexible rubber cover on cable helps here ) with the ebrake off. pull the ebrake handle up as far as it will go, recheck the cable ends to see if both pulled in the same distance, now release the ebrake & recheck that they both returned to original position. the one that didn't pull in is the bad one. be sure calipers function properly. OR you could just jack the car up with wheels hanging free, put the ebrake on and try to spin/turn the wheels by hand. the one that spins/turns has the bad cable or caliper.
