Acceleration
Maybe I'm just crazy (if so please let me know), but sometimes I feel my car bogs down a bit in the high RPMs band. Its like it is searching for more fuel to keep it accelerating. I never managed to get to the track this summer to see its 1/4 mile times. When I first take the car out in the morning when its cold I feel it has a lot more juice to it than when its been running for a while. Any ideas?
I wish I had other friends with maxima's so I could compare it. By the way I have a 5 speed and all maintanence is up to date

Its because when your car hasn't had time to heat up, the air the engine is running on is cold which allows it to combust more and generate more power, most people who race see their best times during the winter months because the air is colder.

But to the OP, have you thought to check for a knock sensor ghost code, and do you run '87? You should come out to the next "burlington mall meet", most of us 5mt guys are lightly to heavily modified, but I've driven more 5-speed maximas than I can count, I could take it around the block and tell you within 5 seconds if it goes like it should Go to the northeast regionals section for meet details.
