intake problem, need som help!

so i just bought an injen intake for my 98 max but when i looked at the directions i realized something...
i have the intake for the 95-97 max, not the 98-99 like i need.
the air temp sensor is supposed to plug into the intake for the 98-99 but i have the 95-97 intake and that one attaches with a bracket on the 95-97. see pics...
98-99

95-97

this is the sensor that goes with the intake i have (the part i think i need)

what can/should i do?
if i buy the air temp. sensor from a 95-97 will it work with my 98.

Modify the intake not the sensor

I had the same problem with my intake when I replaced my 95 with a later year build 97, all I did was grind the "block" part where the sensor screws in down with an angle grinder and then re-drilled the hole so the round sensor would fit.

yea i could do that, but i'd like to use that as a last resort. if i can buy the 95-97 for a few bucks and it works then that's what i'd want to do, but if not, the grinder is coming out. thanks.

Better idea: Sell the Injen, buy a ypipe. This way, you'll be gaining power instead of losing it.

I have one for sale, very lightly used if interested, warp speed, a y pipe that is, shows average gains from 14-17 whp, especially on motorvate.ca

I have a 97 right when they converted from the screw to the plug sensor. I had to call Injen and have them send the right pice, it took some phone time but they realized that 97 was the conversion year and that they F-ed up. I had to put $50 down untill the right part came and then return the wrong pice they originally sent. They sent me the down pipe twice and after several phone calls again I recieved the correct part for mine and your application. So im now the proud owner of three injen lowere intake pipes and two upper pipes.. Woopeee they can keep the $50
Just callthem and make sure they pay for the shipping back those cheep mothers..

You can see where I used duct tape to hold the sensor in place untill I got the right part
