Write-up for heated mirrors?

Does anyone know or have a write-up for installing the heated mirrors (specifically connecting the 2 wires)?

Pictures would be great.

I know how to install the mirrors, I just don't know where to connect the wires to.

Thanks.

Are you sure there is wiring? The FSM says nothing about heated mirrors, just heated seats. Did the Cold/Winter package have them?

If you have them, I guess you would need a switch and power source, say the cig lighter. A simple SPST switch would work.

Apparently the cold/winter package came with heated mirrors. When I was maxima shopping a couple weeks ago one of the sellers said that rather than having buttons to heat them up (like the 3rd gen), they instead activate when you choose defrost on your climate control.. not sure of the truth of that but it makes sense.

Yes, it comes with the cold/winter package. Apparently my car did not come with this package but would like to add this option since I have the mirrors in hand.

When I did my research, that's what the other orgers said. It activates with the defogger.

From the mirror itself, there are 2 sets of wires, a set of 2 (heated mirror wires) and a set of 3 (power mirror wires).

My questions is... how would I wire these 2 wires? I can't find a write-up or anything.

In the 1998 FSM, try page EL-112. It is in the defroster section.

One wire is power and one is ground. Just put in a switch and run the mirrors to that.

I would still just splice the power wire to the power wire for the defroster.

Lets say you get in your car in the morning to start it and heat it up. You turn the heat on full blast, and the rear defroster. But forget the switch for the mirror. If you wire to the defroster, you'll never forget to defrost the mirror . And the defroster has an automatic shut-off so this is a nice feature too (at least mine shuts off after 15 minutes). Just my two cents. That's what I'm doing when I purchase mine later on.

I guess I'll try to figure that out once I get the chance to...

Thanks for all the input everyone!

with winter package u get power and heated mirrors, I got aftermarket side mirrors that are still power mirrors butr not heated, I was gonna do a voltage test for these just havent had the time. Either someone else knows or Ill make time to do it in the next couple of days. Mine came with the winter package which is 3 in 1 wire bundle and then 2 in 1, not sure how the others come.

Hate to revive an old thread but my '96 I30T does not have the heated mirrors but it does have the connectors and wiring in the doors for the heated mirrors.

I did a voltage check on that connector when turning on both rear defroster and the windshield defroster, no +12V. I checked the FSM to see where the relay is located. I don't have the door mirror defogger relay. So I guess I only have the wiring inside the doors and no where else.

Did any of you get your heated mirrors working. I never thought I'd miss them, but the 95 I inherited doesn't have them and it really sucks. Almost enough for me to drag my 94 Impala SS out of storage... Almost...

My Maxima has the heated mirrors, and I can take pictures of the wiring once I get home if you'd like.

I didn't know that maximas came with heated mirrors. But, like everyone else has said, most oem heated mirrors are on the same circuit as the defroster. As for wiring, just search for "nissan heated mirror wiring" or something like that. For example, i used an S14 240sx wiring diagram for my power folding mirrors.
