Mising Third Brake light

OK, Today my friend pointed out that my Third brake light was blown, the one behind the rear windshield. So i took out the back housing and wen i lifted up, I notice that there was never anything inside the house. INside the housing was empty and a electric plug that looks like im suppose to plug into the housing but theres nothing to plug into bc its missin. Anyone know wut th epart thats missing or do I have to buy a brand new one.

You have to buy a brand new one. It's an entire unit. You could probably find one on one of the full part-out threads in the 4th gen classifieds.

someone probably tried to wire it to a spoiler and gave up.

i had a 96 GLE with a spoiler and the third interior brake light was just the lense - cuz the wire was rerouted to the spoiler's brake light.

im sure the wires are in there somewhere

I have a spare 3rd brake light bulb assembly (socket, bulb and harness with plug); it's yours for the price of shipping. Shoot me a PM if you need it.
