Catalytic converter install

I bought a y-pipe and cat from Warpspeed for my 99 SE-L (CA-spec) and am wondering if the cat is directional? Does it have a specific in and out end? I couldn't see anything that indicated a direction and it looked like the cat could be mount either way. There were no instructions with the cat (it is a Magnaflow and I couldn't find anything on their website about it either) and Warpspeed's directions didn't specify. Has anyone had any experience with these? Thanks

the cat is not directional, so I don't believe there is a specific in and out end. Usually on cats, you can tell which way to mount them by their different flanges on the end. But for our cars, both ends have the same 2 hole flange. So mount them either end.. use your own discretion as to which side will fit better. in reality, both sides are fine. have fun!

Go ahead and do back to back dynos with a cat and a test pipe, you won't notice any significant gains.

Cats can be directional depending on the manufaturer. It should have an arrow on it if it is directional.
