Car is dead! 1997- Maxima -auto

Alright guys! My daily driver died on me, NOT THE SUPERCHARGED ONE

Im not new to maximas, but this car is kicking my ***......
I get in the car, I turn the key and nothing! absolutelly NOTHING. No sound of the car wanting to kick over or even wanting to start.
I checked the battery, cleaned the terminals and its fine. I took the starter off thinking it was that and when i took it to the autoparts store they tested it and worked just fine.
I checked all the fuse's inside and all are fine. None are blown. I remember a week ago or so the car started to act up. It would hesitate to start and kinda made a weird sound. So I pulled the codes and got.... Knock sensor, oxigen sensor on bank 1, vac sensor and auto gear 1 error. I changed the sensor that says boost sensor wich was one of the codes I got thinking it was that and nothing.
I really can't understand what it could be???? Crank sensor came to my mind but other than that i dont know. Its really kicking my butt!!!

If you guys have any ideas on what it could be, i would really appreciate ur help. Sorry for SP errors. Im typing this really fast.

Thanks
Albert

Agreed that it's the ignition switch. Mine went but it went slowly, not all at once. It was about $120 to replace.

Test for voltage on fuse number 33 in the fuse panel when putting the ignition in the start position. No voltage, bad ignition switch.

it does sound like an ignition switch. prob the wiring inside started to short out or something which makes your car not start. just buy a new switch

this is what i would do... take the switch out and just turn it with a screw driver.. if the car starts then its ur problem... what happens is that the key only turns it so far.. and that area wears out.. if u turn it farther it will work..

get it form the dealer its 30 bucks no matter what price they give you dont pay more than 30

The $120 I paid also included an overpriced mechanic to put it in and should have included a small jar of vaseline to ease the pain.

replacing the ignition switch is simple, but after going through two switches in less than a year, I just wired up a push start, which I custom wired everything. Didn't even follow the direction that came with the push start switch.

So when my car doesn't start with the key, I just keep the key in on position and push start my car. Isn't it clever? LOL

I had same problem

I needed a new starter. Unless they tricked me into a starter when it was actually the ignition switch. But my starts were making odd sounds in the lead up to my latest shop visit for a new starter.

2nd starter I put into my 99. The first time I went cheap because Nissan wanted 550. Well, I bought one from another shop. Non OEM. It lasted less than 2 years. So, next time I will pay the extra money for an OEM part.

12VDC from the positive battery terminal goes to 30A fusible link (letter h , located in the fuse and fusible link box) from there it is fed to ignition switch terminal 1 (white/Purple wire). With the ignition switch in the START position, power is supplied through the switch to terminal 5 (black/white wire) of the ignition switch.

Make sure you measure 12VDC to ground at terminal 1 of the ignition switch, if not check the fusible link. If you have 12VDC at terminal 1 turn the ignition switch to start, at that time you should measure 12VDC at terminal 5. If 12VDC is present at terminal 5 with key in start position the switch is good,if not the switch is faulty.
