Goodbye for a while ...

Let's keep this thread up front now and then. Don't let it fall into archive oblivion.
Daniel B. Martin was always such a great resource on this forum, and a pleasure to correspond with. Very private guy too... didn't get to learn anything about him outside of his willingness to help other Maxima owners. And his conservative attitude with minimal mods to his Maxima was always something to make you smile (while the rest of us kept dreaming up and doing mods). He was a constant reminder that we can love the Maxima just as it is!
Daniel, I hope you pass by once in a while and see that we haven't forgotten you. We certainly hope to see you here again someday. Whatever it is that took you away, if it was a negative thing may you find a solution and if it was a positive thing may it bring you the greatest joy.
Regards,
~Gary

Well, it's "now and then." A solid three months since this has been bumped, so I had to get my .02 in.
I was only a member for 9 or 10 months before DBM left the boards, but since then it seems every time I need an answer regarding my 4th gen his name is stamped on a reply. Detailed, informative, and correct information 100% of the time. Even though I didn't know him outside of the board, he has helped me a lot more than he knows. In case he ever checks this thread again I want to make sure he knows that he helped one more person.

When I first posted, a long time ago, he let me know how to post
"properly"...that is, be descriptive, accurate and to the point!
he didn't flame, he educated me!!! so, now I owe the .org and I *try* to post informative answers for others...
my $0.02...

As this is back at the front... I was never on this forum when DBM was around, but I can safely say that his past postings have saved me $125 already, and that's after 2 months! If I'm ever bored on this forum and just want to find out more about my car, I just search for his name and read away.

When I joined the ORG last year, I quickly grew to appreaciate the wealth of knowledge stuffed into this guys head! His patience and skills have been greatly appreciated. You have bought great credit upon yourself and the Maxima community.
The best of luck Daniel B. Martin and don't stay gone to long. You will be missed.

:o)
This might make for some interesting/educational reading if/when you guys have some free time. Especially those members who have joined in the last year and never had the pleasure of meeting Daniel.

Sorry about that. It worked the day I posted it. Let me try one more time:

If that stops working as well, all I did was go to his profile and clicked "search all posts by user". There are 185 pages! Good stuff.

That says a lot about Dainel B. Martin.
Daniel B. Martin - *bump*
It seems that still nobody knows what the personal reason was for his departure. Not even a whisper from him. I'll bet he just got tired of so many people asking him why he doesn't mod his ride.
(and he's gotta still be driving his "plain Jane" '99 GXE!)
Maybe he doesn't stop by to say "hello", because there'd be so many messages following it that he'd then have to go silent on or be too tempted to reply. He still has a 4.54 posts per day statistic, without having posted anything since 10/2001. Shows how active he was! But you gotta bet he's jumped up on the board anonymously just to see what's kicking, at least a few times since then... If so, "Hello Daniel, we still miss you!"

I think thats something that he doesnt want anyone to know and that he wants to part himself from the constant ignorance of people on this site.. Maybe thats it? Stop bumping this thread please, it only makes it worse
HI Daniel
HI Daniel
As much as it pains me to do so, I have to lock this thread.
DBM may or may not return. But bumping this thread serves no real purpose other than to remind us that he's not here helping us out.
If he does return, so much the better; if he doesn't at least this thread will be around to remind us what a great resource we lost.
