I assume this happens when your heater is turned off? For some strange reason, Nissan made the Maxima so that it continues to blow air through the floor vents even when your system is turned off. Push the circular button and it should stop.

This is a good thing. Especially noticeable when you flush the whole coolant system and use new and proper non-silicated nissan long life coolant.

Set the recirculation button to not allow outside air to come into the cabin as mentioned above, also set the temperature in the middle between the hot and cold and you will not feel a thing as this closes the heater core.

I like to use this hot air on the hwy without turning my heater on, saving fan life maybe I duno why, but i like it...

Heh thats exactly what I do. If im cold i just put it on warm and never actually turn on my heater and it does the job. Helps save gas.
